What Ligus is

Ligus is a computer application that runs on your own machine. It reads documents you give it and answers your questions from those documents, with the help of an AI provider you choose and pay for yourself (bring-your-own-key). Ligus is a tool; the answers it produces are generated from your documents and an external AI service, and they can contain errors. Check important answers against your source documents before acting on them.

Your licence

A purchase gives you a licence to install and use Ligus on your own computers, for your own work (including work for your employer or your clients, if you are the user).

The licence is personal to the buyer. It does not include the right to resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute Ligus, its installer, or its built-in files, or to offer Ligus as a hosted service to others.

You may not attempt to extract, decompile, or reverse-engineer the compiled application, except where the law gives you that right regardless of these terms.

Product files that ship openly as data (such as notices and documentation) keep the licences stated in them, including the Apache License 2.0 attribution file included with the product.

Your key, your provider, your costs

Ligus needs an API key from an AI provider of your choice. That relationship is between you and the provider: their terms, their prices, their limits.

We are not responsible for charges your provider bills you, for changes your provider makes to its service, or for answers the provider's models produce.

You are responsible for keeping your own key secret.

Your documents and content

Your documents remain yours. Ligus processes them on your machine only, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for having the right to use the documents you put into Ligus.

Price, payment, and refunds

Ligus is sold for a one-time price, shown at checkout at the time of purchase. There is no subscription for Ligus itself.

Payment and delivery are handled by the checkout provider (Gumroad). Refunds follow the refund terms shown at checkout and the provider's buyer policies; if a separate refund promise is shown on the product's sales page at the time you buy, that promise applies as written.

Updates

We may release updated versions of Ligus. Which updates are included with a purchase is stated on the sales page at the time of purchase.

We may change or stop offering the product for new buyers at any time; copies already bought keep working as standalone software on your machine, since Ligus runs locally.

Warranty and liability

Ligus is provided "as is". We work to keep it accurate and reliable and we publish measured test results, but we do not promise that every answer is correct or that the software is fit for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with Ligus is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Changes apply to purchases made after the change; they do not retroactively change the licence of a copy already bought.
